Kayla Saldarriaga • Founder, Tiny Hands Big Art
Kayla Saldarriaga, a Miami native, discovered her love for teaching at just seven years old—gathering neighborhood kids in her backyard and pretending to be their teacher. That early spark grew into a lifelong passion for education and creativity.
She earned her degree in Elementary Education (K–6) from Barry University, where she began her career as a Co-Teacher in first and second grade classrooms. Later, she transitioned into Early Childhood Education, spending three formative years at a Montessori preschool in South Beach. There, she worked her way from assistant teacher to Lead Teacher for the Toddler class, gaining valuable insight from mentors, peers, and her vibrant school community.
Kayla has since led a toddler summer camp, tutored independently, and hosted a creative kids’ art event for the Florida Home Education Department. Each experience deepened her commitment to helping young learners grow through hands-on expression.
She founded Tiny Hands Big Art to share that passion with more families and create space where children can learn, explore, and express themselves through art. Believing that all children should have access to creativity and education, Kayla also hosts free art events—like those held at Veterans Park in Miami Lakes—to ensure every child has the chance to enjoy the magic of an intimate art class.
